At Beeches Junior School, we have a school council representative and a deputy representative for each class. We meet regularly because we think it is important that the children's views are shared and listened to.
School Council Representatives for 2015/2016
In each class in the school we have a suggestion box.
They are used to see what people want the school council reps to do.
We read the suggestions out at meetings and see what we can do about them.
This year we have set up an Eco-Friendly team, which is where each class has a group of people that monitor turning off the lights when they don't need to be on, keeping the taps turned off, closing the doors etc. To see if the monitors have kept on doing their jobs, two of the Year Six school council reps have taken ten minutes of their playtime and lunchtime to go around the school and check each class to see if they are being eco-friendly. By doing this the school have now started saving a lot more electricity. We hope the school continues to do this.
